Official says sees Russian grain harvest at 115–120 mln tns in 2018

MOSCOW, Apr 10 (PRIME) -- Russia’s gross grain harvest is expected to amount to 115–120 million tonnes in 2018 but can range between 100 million tonnes and 130 million tonnes depending on weather, Arkady Zlochevsky, president of the Russian Grain Union, said at a press conference on Tuesday.

“It is perhaps too early to make forecasts for the next gross harvest, the sowing campaign has not been completed. Nevertheless, we are guided by average figures. If everything is okay with the weather, the range will be some 115–120 million tonnes,” Zlochevsky said.

Russia will most likely be unable to harvest 135.4 million tonnes it harvested in 2017 in 2018, the official said.
